Elder Porter in Chile

Hey Guys, Sorry I have to be short with this email but this week just flew by.  We are working a lot to see some big miracles in our sector and although it was a trying week, sabemos que el Señor está con nosotros.  Our baptism fell which was too bad but we have good hopes that not all is lost.  The Lord also guided us to some pretty neat people so we are looking at a pretty good week. Not much else happened except for our Zone Conference in Iquique.  It was really good and we learned a lot about diligence and about virtue.    The Lord walks with us everyday and knows each person. As teachers of Jesus Christ our purpose is to guide people to salvation.  Our intent and love for each person is key. Hey yall! What a week it has been!  Saw some difficulties, but also some milagros.  The Lord is with us every step of the way.  I have really been studying a lot about what it means to put the Lord first in our life.  Many times we get too distracted with what we think and forget that the Lord places a way for each of us to overcome obstacles.   I love this Scripture from Matthew 6 and 3 Nephi 14  20  sino haceos   tesoros   en el cielo, donde ni la polilla ni el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan. 21  Porque donde esté vuestro tesoro, allí estará también vuestro corazón. 28  Y por el vestido, ¿por qué os afanáis?  Considerad  los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;   31  No os afanéis, pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos o qué beberemos, o con qué nos hemos de vestir? 32  Porque vuestro Padre Celestial sabe que tenéis necesidad de todas estas cosas. 33  Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os será

Hello all! It has been one of those weeks in the desert.  So it was pretty funny that this past week I got all the Christmas mail.  I got 8 cards from the family and Wendy Patterson and Sister Ehlers (my seminary teacher in VA)  I also got Nancy´s puro peanut butter package!  I gifted 2 jars and I have eaten one and am halfway through a second!!!  Super happy about that.  No other packages to report.  I also received the really nice leather case for my Bible that I ordered back in December.  This guy in Santiago does them custom.  You just tell him what you want on the front and back covers and spine.  Pretty much able to use any gospel artwork.  It is way sweet.   When we got home to drop it all off, we left for work.  And there was a straight up dust storm for 20 minutes that we had to walk through.  It was very windy and I had some sand in my teeth for a few hours afterwards. Jan 9-Jan15, 2018 This week was just way long but I felt like it was good.  It was busy as always and we are trying really hard to make some adjustments and bless the area here.  I keep forgetting that most of the world I know is in winter right now.  I am spending a lot of days here just applying sunscreen and sweating jaja.  So I will tell you a little bit about what has been going on this week.  One of them is that last P-day Elder Wheelwright and I went clothes shopping and I bought some red shorts with sharks on them.   It is pretty hipster LOL. My comp and I get along really well.  He is really good and we enjoy talking everyday.  We talked about Psych the showand when the Blueberry got destroyed.  "German engineering  (the car was Japanese, I was talking about the barrier Gus, made in Hamburg").  And we just crack jokes a lot.  He is pretty funny. --Zone Conference --Miracles So to talk about the Zone Conference, basically it started out on Tuesday when we had a
